In commemoration of 20 years of the ground breaking RPG from Square, "Final Fantasy", Square Enix whipped an action RPG on the Playstation Portable console which feature the protagonists and antagonists of the first 11 FF titles and the drones alson known as fans around the world caught the bait. As usual Square Enix are laughing to the bank. Fortunately I don't have a PSP but unfortunately I am a sucker for their trading arts collectibles.

Complete Set:

Cloud Strife
from FFVII

In Dissidia, Cloud appears as he is in the original Final Fantasy VII, donned in the SOLDIER uniform (albeit darker in color tone) & slugging the huge Buster Sword behind his back. One thing is for sure Cloud is less polygonal here.
This is another magnificent personification of one of the icon of the gaming world with near perfect sculpt including a good face (something that let Cloud down time and again in the past), decent details and apt paintjob.
The only complain from me would be the fact that it is getting rather boring to see Cloud striking the usual pose in his usual brood.
But nevertheless Cloud sells and Square Enix knows it and milk it hard.

Squall

Squall Leonhart
from FFVIII

Squall has his "eyes on you".
Alright sorry for the lame pun but I feel Squall really steal the show for this set.

Like Cloud, Squall's attire differs little from the design from FFVIII but this time round we can really admire the details of Squall's choice of black and metallic accessories.
The cross that dangles on his neck as well as the lion's head belt buckle are finely detailed.
The gunblade looks really cool here as well.

I love Squall's stern expression as those coral blue eyes pierced through you somehow. The scar also added an edge to Squall though the differ in skin tone of his face to the rest of his body stuck out like a sore thumb.

Zidane

Zidane Tribal
from FFIX

Unlike the midget everyone slighted as a hero of his own FF title, Zidane actually look prominent under the redesign by Tetsuya Nomura for Dissidia.

The same clown-like dressing, the Saiya-jin like primate tale and the girly blonde crop are still featured but Zidane's sharp facial features shone illustriously.

The pose was rather unnatural but I like the amount of details included in the attire, the Mage Smasher (twin daggers), the dagger holster etc.

Tidus

Tidus

Tidus
from FFX

Not much difference from the original design and the pose looks to take a leaf off the Wikipedia page.

One thing for sure I like the facial design as compared to that version of Tidus from the Trading Arts Vol 2.
There was more manly grit in this Tidus who looks to beef up a bit from the predecessor.

Once again kudos have to be given to the sculpor for a stable sculpt and eye for details especially the beautiful long sword by the name of Brotherhood.

The Warrior of Light
from Final Fantasy

The least familiar of this line up which was almost unrecognisable even for those old enough to play the original FF on the Nintendo Entertainment System who actually live to see the Warrior of Light behind the 16 bit pixels.

Donned in medieval style armor complete with a majestic bull horn helmet, a long flowing cape which pulled the figurine backwards over long period of time, as well as sweet long sword and a shield which follows the color theme.
The figurine stand at close to 15 cm but always look to take a backseat from his more contemporary counterparts.
