Other Remarks:

After my buddy lent me his FF IX PS game in 2000, I was addicted like Maradona to cocaine and when on a FF IX rampage. After getting Garnet and Steiner from Action City, I went searching high and low for Zidane and Vivi and finally bidded the pair from ebay. Wanted to ask my friend to make a diorama to pose these figures but that was always just building castle in the air.

Zidane Tribal

The hero of the series. An amalgam of an elvish profile with a Saiya jin of Dragonball Z's distinct tail. He was a bandit disgusing as a theatre actor, who original plan was to abduct the princess but his plan all went wrong.

Zidane, like most figures in this series is not highly articulated with only head, arms and feet movable to certain degree. All essential Zidane's essence have been captured, loved his inventory of weapons given as well. However the dagger and the double edge sword tends to drop off easily. All figurines came with a nice black plastic base with the FF IX logo painted.

Vivi Ornitier

Although a powerful and feared black magic user, Vivi is innocent and pure at heart, yet discontent by the mystery of his existence and determined to find himself among the shrouded emptiness and loneliness that plagues his soul. Being the only black mage not under the control of Queen Brahne, Vivi sets out to uncover his dark past to ensure his existence and future.

Vivi is my fave character in the game and he's nicely done as a figurine as well. (Even tempted to just get Vivi from the Trading Arts Volume 1) Our little mage friend looks exactly from the game itself with his tiny yellow eyes in his mage's attire, under the large mage hat and with that oack wood staff.

Garnet

Garnet Til Alexandros 17th

Young, beautiful, her life confined solely within castle walls and fearing a conspiracy within Alexandria, Garnet looks for the perfect opportunity to escape with the thief band Tantalus. Questioning the loyalty of her own mother, Queen Brahne, Garnet disguises herself as a commoner with Steiner at her side in search for the answers that continue to ravage her heart.

Something wrong with Garnet's design for all figurines I had of her, they tend to amplified the head while making the body looked small in comparison. Never really like her costume but I like the diamond necklace included in this figure. The healing staff tends to fall from her grip as well.

Steiner

Adelbert Steiner

Sworn to the Queen of Alexandria and brimming with honor, Adelbert Steiner's devotion to protecting Princess Garnet is as rich as his clumsiness. Despite his extremely naive nature, Steiner will stop at nothing to ensure her safety and slowly begins to second guess his judgement while consequence seemingly defies him.

I also like our valiant yet fumbling general very much as well. His listless eyes always bring a smile to me yet as he held his broad sword in his fighting stance, he looked very serious and dangerous. Definite not someone you can trifle with. The armor and weapon sheath are nicely made, but Steiner cannot stand properly like the rest.

Final Rating:

Final Fantasy IX is still my fave FF series of all time (since it's the only one I have really spend time patiently to complete). These range of figurines are made really nicely but after I started my mini figurines collection, I find these slightly too big (but still quite acceptable). I think if I had the money during my craze period, I might get the other 4 integral characters as well.
